6th Form Letter
The sole legacy of the Form of 1968? Maybe not...
Whether you signed it or not, however you view it today, it is a part of our class hsitory. So, here it is, digitized in Adobe PDF format courtesy of C. Kerry.
Unearthed and scanned. I showed this to my daughter Jessica, a junior at Milton Academy and editor of their school paper. She said it was "very cool." The graduating class ahead of her just fired a parting shot of their own -- and immediately left to go drinking at someone's house in Maine and got their prom cancelled. I also found numerous faded purple mimeograph pages of earnest proposals we discussed in the wake of the letter.
Private schools like St. Paul's are vastly more open, diverse, and nurturing places now but, seen through the eyes of my daughter, many of the same issues live on. "Of course," as the letter said, "it cannot be denied that the problem of St. Paul's is the problem of education in general."
Looking back over it, though: Cleveland? And what's so bad about "perpetual adolescence"?
Best,
Cam Kerry
